Lauren Mckuin is a full time wife and momma to two small gals. To her, family is her biggest support and motivation. She’s also an art teacher at a rad private school, the curator of an art gallery, as well as an artist herself. She’s won a few awards, been featured on local and national news, had images featured on calendars across the country and had artworks on display at the Governor’s Gallery in the Oklahoma capital building. During one interview Ms Lauren said- “I mean I’d say I definitely dabble in art and doodles occasionally.”
In 2008 she left Oklahoma for a new adventure. Florida stole her heart and she settled there until leaving for Savannah GA to start art school. While there Lauren study abroad in Provence France for a spell; taking in different cultures and seeing new parts of the world as well. She grew profoundly from that small town girl from northeast Oklahoma and so did her techniques and styles. She knew she wanted her images to speak and to convey a story to the viewer. She wanted her viewers to develop their own emotional connections to her art and art in general.
While in Savannah studying painting and photography at The Savannah College of Art and Design (Go Bees) , Lauren fell in love with a military man from the 75th Ranger Regiment. They lived in the Pacific North West, then relocated to southwestern Oklahoma. After four years, and shortly after the birth of her youngest little lady, Lauren and her family moved back to her homelands of Osage County.
